Red Carpet Looks from Golden Globes

MERMAID DRESSES

From top left to right:
Paula Patton in yellow Monique Lhuillier – cute. Nice hair.
Reese Witherspoon in red Zac Posen – same hairstyle and look at every red carpet. Boring!
Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen- one of the nightmares of the evening.
Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli – very pretty with her slender body. Not a great dress though.
Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann – always eccentric lady didn’t surprise with her red carpet pick. Icy blue goes great with her skin tone and hair.
Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci – she has a sleek style but shouldn’t be wearing V-necks, make her look like a highschool student.
Sophia Vergara in custom Vera Wang – amazing.
Debra Messing in Monique Lhuillier – gorgeous dress, but been there, done that.
Elle Mcpherson in Zac Posen (again) – stunning dress, I like everything with tulle.
Tina Fey in Oscar de la Renta – pretty dress but not flattering on her. She shouldn’t be wearing mermaid dresses with this body. Sorry.

BACK ACTION

From top left to right:
Claire Danes in J. Mendel – one of the best of the red carpet. Minimal accessories to keep the balance with the embellishments on her dress.
Stacey Kiebler in Valentino – such a cute back with the bow.
Zooey Deschanel in custom Prada – green goes great with her pretty eyes. She is one of those few lucky people who can look great with bangs.
Nicole Richie in Julien Macdonald – the back is very sexy.

PINK AND PURPLE HUES

From top left to right:
Emma Stone in Lanvin – I have a girl crush on Emma Stone and she doesn’t surprise me. She’s a knockout.
Natalie Portman in Lanvin – She’s one of my fav people, so graceful, a total 21st century Audrey Hepburn. But she has more or less the same dress, colors and look on every red carpet.
Jessica Alba in Gucci – matches her skin tone but an ordinary dress.
Julianna Margulies in Naeem Khan – the Lorraine Schwartz jewels are more eye-catching than the dress!

BLUE TONES

From left to right:
Madeleine Stowe in Vera Wang – charming color and love the corset top.
Michelle Williams in Jason Wu – never been a big fan of her or her style. She looks very average in my opinion.
Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka – very age-appropriate and pretty dress
Berenice Bejo in Gucci Premiere – The Artist co-star didn’t leave anything to chance in this very smart sapphire silk organza strapless gown.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuiller – she seems so cute and fun in this gown. Very polished with the ponytail.

BLACKS

From left to right:
Julianne Moore in Chanel – a jolting dress with gorgeous green earrings.
Morena Baccarin in Edition by Georges Chakra – ehhh.
Mila Kunis in Dior – Mila is a red carpet favorite but we’ve seen better than this look. She looks tired in all pictures with the very flat hair. Still pretty though.
Salma Hayek in Gucci – not a fan of her but she looks great, amazing hair, stunning dress with gold top.

WHITE AND NUDE COLORS

From left to right:
Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace – she has true Hollywood glamour.
Jessica Biel in Elie Saab – Jessica Biel is one the prettiest people out there and Elie Saab is a hell of a designer but these two could have done much better. Not a bad dress but just doesn’t do her justice.
Charlize Theron in Dior – incredible in this gown with a thigh high split, a flowing train and an oversized bow detail.
Jessica Chastain in Givenchy couture – something is off with this dress but not sure what. The thin belt? Too simple hair? High neckline?
Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham – she definitely knows how to dress. Another red carpet fav of mine.
Nicole Kidman in Versace – she’s been so bad for a while, even though I hate the dress, this is one of her OK looks.
Amanda Peet in Marc Jacobs – one of worst of the evening. She is so pretty but this dress is no red carpet material.

EARTH TONES

From left to right:
Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci Premiere – with peacock feathers. The dress has a nice cut but Evan is a little curvy for such a style.
Laura Dern in Andrew Gn – she looks dazzling.
Madonna in Reem Acra – it’s a good thing she’s got a Globe because this dress is no winner. The chain mail top, the ruffled skirt, the bracelets… Too much stuff at the same time.

MY TOP 3

You may not stand her, you may think that she is a poser, a skinny lowlife, a talentless actress, a weirdo but you have to accept that she has a style and she is beautiful. She has a sleek and plain style. She has a few colors that she likes to wear. She has like two hairstyles and she sticks with them. She is the femme fatale of Hollywood.

She may not be a goddess but she has a charm and everything looks good on her. This Lanvin is amazing and very flattering on Emma Stone.

Zooey Deschanel is one of those funky people. Like Emma Stone she is very charming. This green and black Prada dress looks totally fabulous on her. And did she have the cutest nails or what?

  1. People who made it close in my list are : Julianne Moore black Chanel dress, Reese Witherspoon’s Zac Posen big fan of his dresses, and Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli. I was disappointed not to see any floor length capes 😦
