Marni and H&M

Some people say that high-end fashion designers compromise their appeal by creating collections for street brands like Topshop or H&M. While I agree to this statement a certain extent, I also think that in today’s economy fashion lovers who can’t afford to pay big bucks for these brands should be able to enjoy having a designer piece of their own. It’s a legitimate designer collaboration and they are not knock-offs. Also it’s great to see different lines and styles in these stores. Otherwise they pretty much create the more or less the same stuff every year. Like Zara for instance, it’s nice and everything but aren’t you sick of the same shirts and the skirts every season?

Çünkü kendi kreasyonları her sene aşağı yukarı birbirine benziyor. Zara gibi. Evet güzel koleksiyonları oluyor ama her sene aynı gömlek ve etekleri görmekten bıktım gerçekten.

  1. Yes, I agree “…in today’s economy fashion lovers who can’t afford to pay big bucks for these brands should be able to enjoy having a designer piece of their own…” But I think problem is, when everybody can get it or buy it after automaticaly become basic “street fashion”, no more “unique”

    • i agree, it’s not unique anymore when it’s mass produced. but i also think that uniqueness doesn’t have to do with price it’s about how you style it. unless you somehow make it on your own, even a 3.000 usd balmain jacket won’t do the trick.
