McQueen Exhibit Attracted More Visitors on the First Day than Any Costume Institute Show
About 5,100 people went to see the exhibit opening day Wednesday. The most trafficked opening day of any exhibit in the museum’s history is “Vincent van Gogh: The Drawings,” which attracted 5,400 people when it opened in 2005.
Although I would love to see the exhibit for myself, I’m not sure what attracted this many visitors; whether they really wanted to see the art and creativity of his designs or the fact that McQueen decided to end his life so recently.
